We tested ten menopause apps. Every one sent data out before a woman was asked.
Our study of ten widely used menopause apps found 253 privacy findings and 32 outside services. Not one app let women choose what to share.

A menopause app holds some of the most private data a woman has. Her sleep. Her moods. Her hormone dose, and the day she changed it.
In June 2026, we scanned ten of the most widely used menopause apps across the UK, EU and US. We chose them by reach, not by what we expected to find. We tested what each app does when it runs on the phone, and read that against what its privacy policy promises.
What we found:
- 253 privacy findings across ten apps
- 32 outside services receiving data, including Google, Meta and AppsFlyer
- 0 apps that let a woman choose if and what to share
Even the cleanest app sent data to outside companies before she was asked.
This is not a verdict on every menopause app. It is a measurement of ten. At the end of the report there is a separate case study of one app, not among the ten, that reached a clean scan after fixing a leak its own makers did not know was there.
